Updated data from the 2023 Survey of Household Spending are now available.

  Note to readers

Data from the 2023 Survey of Household Spending were previously released on May 21, 2025, using survey weights based on the 2016 Census of Population. The survey weights have been updated and are now calibrated to demographic projections based on the 2021 Census of Population.

Products

The Survey of Household Spending: Data visualization tool, which is part of Statistics Canada – Data visualization products (Catalogue number71-607-X), is available. This dashboard displays average expenditure per household estimates by geography (Canada, regions, provinces, the three territorial capitals), household tenure, household type and household income quintile.
